FAQ
You can use the manual processing tool for all kinds of ONSERT® elements. You just have to change the exchange unit.
The elements can be positioned either manually or using an exchange unit in the tool. For higher tolerance requirements, we recommend the use of a template with which the ONSERT® SL ONE can be precisely positioned on the component surface. This template should be created by the user.
The ONSERT® SL ONE is equipped with a default curing time of 10 seconds, which is sufficient for bonding ONSERT® elements that contain a screw or nut insert. When using individual plastic fasteners, for the cable management, the curing time may potentially be reduced to 5 seconds. It is important to verify the curing time for each application.
Bonding is not universally applicable to all materials or surfaces. The standard ONSERT® adhesives perform exceptionally well on glass, aluminum (both raw and on load-bearing surfaces such as e-coat or anodized finishes), and steel (only after surface treatment). They are also effective on thermoplastic materials, excluding PTFE, PP, and POM, as well as on thermoset materials.
Yes, with the use of an additional dosing technology.
Before using the dosing applicator, please follow the instructions in the instruction manual.
Please have a look in the instruction manual or contact us.
There are two methods for removing the ONSERT® element:
1. With heat application, such as using a hairdryer, the ONSERT® element along with the adhesive can be softened, allowing it to be easily peeled off from the outside to the inside using a plastic spatula.
2. As a "cold" solution, Böllhoff offers a plastic wedge (part number: 48501900009) in the accessories, which can also be used to remove the element with the help of a 500g hammer.
It is recommended to practice both methods first to avoid damage to the customer's product.
The different replacement units facilitate better positioning and handling of the ONSERT® elements during the bonding process. Your technical representative will be happy to assist you in selecting the appropriate replacement unit.
Once you have programmed the free mode for exposure, wearing safety goggles is mandatory. Follow the instructions in the user manual to avoid health risks.
The case comes with 5 spare O-rings included. Remove the damaged O-ring using a small pair of tweezers or a pointed object. Carefully place the new O-ring into the groove and press it in with your fingers. To simplify the process, the protective shield can be removed from the device.
Yes, however, a suitable 405nm sensor and an adapter tailored to the SL ONE must be used for the measurement. For this inquiry, please contact your technical representative.
Clean the device only from the outside using a lint-free cotton cloth soaked in lukewarm, clear water.
Liquid adhesive residues can be carefully removed with a cotton cloth and some alcohol.
Hardened adhesive residues, for example on the protective shield or the LED screen, should only be cautiously removed with a plastic spatula. Please contact your representative beforehand to avoid damage to the device.
