The new logistics centre in Wuxi, China, significantly expands the capacities available on site. With the integration of a narrow aisle warehouse and numerous small rack systems, additional storage space was created for logistics processing. “Expansion was necessary because after years of growth, the existing space was no longer sufficient,” explains Julien Salerio, Regional Logistic Manager at Böllhoff. “Now the capacities are designed to meet the growing demands over the next ten years.” Logistics around fastening technology is one of the core strengths of the Böllhoff Group in China.
State-of-the-art standards were implemented during the construction of the new building, with regard to both inventory management and logistics workflows. Likewise, the office spaces were designed in line with the latest findings in workplace design. Open project rooms with modern equipment as well as relaxation areas create an ideal environment for agile working and an effective exchange of information.
The new logistics centre marks the fourth expansion of the Wuxi production site. Since the start of production in 2004, the site has developed rapidly. Over the years, especially the product groups plastics technology and riveting technology have grown steadily. Böllhoff now employs more than 200 staff in Wuxi.
