Weld nuts

Weld nuts enable permanent and reliable connections.

Square neck weld nuts (DIN 928).

Weld nuts – the solution for difficult-to-access applications

The nuts are welded to the sheet metal at the contact points of the weld nut – this process is also known as projection welding. This ensures that the nut cannot become detached from the mounting plate. This is also an advantage when the welding point is difficult to access. The screw can then be screwed in through a pre-punched hole.

Method and principle

Overview of weld nuts

Working principle

Welding the weld nuts to the mounting plate ensures that a permanent connection is created. The strength properties of the nuts are changed by the heat input. This should be taken into account when designing constructions.
HELICOIL® self-locking nuts are an alternative that guarantee a strong thread despite the welding process.

Material

Available materials are steel and stainless steel A2 and A4.

Types of weld nuts

  • Hexagon weld nuts

Hexagon weld nuts are similar in shape to traditional hexagon nuts. Each corner has a contact point that is permanently welded to the mounting plate.

    Standards
