Advancing inclusion one step at a time
3,422 laps, 1,369 kilometres run and € 3,422 raised!
These are the impressive results of the 143 staff members from our French site in La Ravoire who took part in the „La Savoie Court pour Handisport“ in 2024. This charity run, organised by the “Comité Handisport Savoie”, a local organisation promoting sports for people with disabilities, sends a clear message: solidarity and inclusion through collective sporting activities.
For the employees of Böllhoff France and their families, it was a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to inclusion and contribute to the total amount raised with strong dedication and team spirit. Step by step, lap by lap, kilometre by kilometre.

6 kilometres of commitment: our team at “Stadtwerke run & roll City”
In Bielefeld, too, the motto for several years now has been: put on your running shoes and do something good! Every year, 15 to 20 Böllhoff colleagues take part in the “Stadtwerke run & roll City” company run, covering a distance of just under 6 kilometres. Where only city traffic rolls on regular days, then fast feet race around Bielefeld's old town,through the city centre.
Part of the entry fees are donated to charity. In addition, Böllhoff supports another charitable organisation with a fixed amount per runner. Since 2025, our employees have been able to propose a suitable donation goal themselves. In previous years, the donations benefited, among others, the association “OWL zeigt Herz e. V.”, which creates special experiences for children in our region East Westphalia-Lippe - in the areas of sports, culture and music.

Joining forces against blood cancer
Every 27 seconds, someone, somewhere in the world receives the devastating diagnosis of blood cancer. For many of them, finding a suitable donor and a stem cell donation is often the last chance for a cure. A few years ago, Michael W. Böllhoff was diagnosed with blood cancer during a trip to Brazil. Thanks to a suitable donation, he was able to recover again. Inspired by this experience, he and his wife, Megan Böllhoff, founded the Instituto Böllhoff de Medula association in Jundiaí, Brazil.
The goal of the association is to help leukemia patients receive a successful bone marrow transplant. To achieve this, the association works with hospitals, universities, and transplant centres to initiate campaigns and raise awareness. A donor drive is held at the Böllhoff site in Jundiaí twice a year to encourage employees to register as bone marrow donors.

Roll up your sleeves and save lives: blood donation campaign at the Bielefeld site
A small prick, a big impact! For over 20 years, employees at our Bielefeld site have been donating blood at least once a year. Around 40 colleagues then leave their desks or workbenches and take to the couches of the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz mobile team – and roll up their sleeves. For a good reason. Because each donation can help up to three people: from cancer patients and young mothers who have had complicated births to seriously injured accident victims.
