Installation without jamming

If the screw threads are misaligned when a screw is inserted in the component (known as cross-threading), the internal thread may be damaged or even completely destroyed. But thanks to the special geometry of the NAVITIGHT® screw, this problem is now a thing of the past.

Method / principle

Simple principle, huge impact. NAVITIGHT®’s secret can be found in the geometry of its thread run-out: the major diameter of the narrower screw tip is smaller than the minor diameter of the female thread – while the thread pitch remains constant. So the torque that is generated when the screw is tightened brings the screw and the female thread into perfect alignment, preventing any screw-fastening errors.

Self-aligning thread

Misalignment when a screw is inserted can often be a problem, especially in cramped conditions. Damage to the internal thread caused by jamming can lead to manufacturing stoppages and to substantial rework costs in some cases. To eliminate this source of error right at the assembly stage, the major diameter of the screw tip is smaller than the minor diameter of the female thread. As the thread pitch remains constant, the screw is automatically brought into alignment with the internal thread. This prevents any damage as the screw is tightened.
