The lifetime depends on various factors, such as the materials to be clinched, the correct setting of the machine and operation of the clinching system. Depending on the material, the lifetime of the tools can exceed 500,000 cycles. To make a concrete statement about your specific application, please contact our specialists in the sales department.
Clinch joint quality control: In addition to a visual inspection of the clinch joint, it is common practice for production control to check the St value (residual bottom thickness) at regular interval during the production process. As a rule of thumb the St-value of a round clinch joint is typically 1/3 of the total material thickness, and about 1/2 for a rectangular joint.
In general, the clinching process is used for material thicknesses between 0.2 and 6 mm. Special tool sets are available in our product portfolio for material thicknesses up to 10 mm.
The specific design of the tool sets takes place through tests on the original material.
1-2 strokes per second.
The joint strengths are in the same order of magnitude.
