Method and principle

Snap technology: Based on the principle of a slam latch

Sheet metal, plastic or wood – our DST quick fasteners are offered in different variants. However, all variants have one thing in common: our innovative snap technology. The products function like a slam latch that you see on house doors or room doors. Two individual parts are the basis: the “guide” with angled clamping jaws and a spring seated within the guide. These snap elements are inserted into the guide slot of a body and held in place by a stopper.

Assembly and operation

Toolless assembly with just a few simple steps

Press a DST fastener through a suitable opening; the inlet chamfer of the clamping jaws pushes the snap element back into the guide slot, like a latch. The spring is tensioned in this process. As soon as the height of the clamping jaws is exceeded at insertion, the spring forces the snap elements outward and then back into their original position. This produces the typical "snap" sound.

Once the fastener is in the desired position, it holds together the elements to be connected with high strength – even under extreme stress. Many of our products have been successfully tested for vibration and shock (DIN EN 61373) and earthquake resistance (GR63CORE, Issue 4)

Dismounting

The easiest way to release fastenings

Many of the DST quick fasteners can be dismounted as easily as they are mounted. Different versions are available according to the requirements of the application; they can be easily removed by hand, with standard tools or special tools.

We explicitly recommend dismounting with special tools wherever there is a possibility of vandalism or unauthorized dismounting. Our fasteners are flexible and can be reused at any time.
