Other nuts

We provide the right solution for every application: Our nuts enable versatile solutions for a variety of applications

Wing nuts – DIN 315

Many drive concepts and function mechanisms are available

There are also various function mechanisms for securing the screw, like there are for snap nuts, in addition to different force drives, e.g. with wing heads or knurled heads. In each case the specific design of the nut makes it possible to produce reliable threaded connections that meet your individual requirements.

Types of nuts

  • Drive-in nuts

Drive-in nuts are primarily used in wood construction. The nut is driven into a prepared drill hole and the teeth on the bottom of the engagement side are wedged into the material. Thus, a metallic thread can be quickly introduced into the material. The major advantage offered by drive-in nuts is that the connection can be reused without limitation. For example, this product is suitable for wood furniture, which must allow multiple assembly and disassembly processes. In addition, the flat engagement enables an almost flush closure with the wood; there is no protrusion or only minimal protrusion.

  • Wing nuts

winging nuts are tightened and loosened by hand on geometric shapings (wings).
However the wing head varies; there is an American, angular shape and a German round shape. This nuts are mainly used in connections where a minimal expenditure of force is used, or for applications that require connections to be frequently tightened or loosened

  • Knurled nuts

Knurled nuts have a knurled outside surface around the nut body. This knurling has the same function as the wings of the wing nut, it enables fastening and loosening by hand. The applications are as varied as can be imagined. Knurled nuts offer an appropriate solution for many industrial applications. They are particularly effective for implementing clamping functions or where regular fine adjustment is necessary

  • Eye nuts

Eye nuts make it possible to lift, carry or secure loads. Eye nuts are screwed onto a bolt that is mounted on the load to be lifted. Then a hook can be attached on the eye of the eye nut to lift the load. Eye bolts are specified in DIN 582; they must be forged to bear the high loads. These items are also specified in Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and are considered safety-related components. Consequently the specifications and instructions for use must be strictly complied with.

  • Slotted nuts

Slotted nuts have a characteristic slot on the top side for mounting or dismounting. The slot on the top side is designed to prevent unauthorized unscrewing of the nut – a special slotted nut driver as specified in DIN 31156 is required for removal. A transverse bore can be used to install an additional pin or lead seal along the slot to enhance the securing function.

  • Turnbuckle nuts

Turnbuckle nuts are used in turnbuckles, which then are used to tension hooks or pieces of wire with thread to stabilize the construction. The hooks or eyes are attached on both sides of the nut and the hooks are tensioned by tightening the nut. Because the hooks and eyes each have a right-hand thread and left-hand thread; this property is also transferred to the turnbuckle nut
