C-Parts management: Ventilation specialist Trox relies on ECOSIT® RFID
Trox is headquartered in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The company specializes in the movement of air. As the expert for air diffusers, ventilation systems and fire and smoke protection systems, Trox prove that distributing air can be an art – true to their company's motto "The art of handling air".
Initial situation
ECOSIT® delivery systems with manual order initiation
Böllhoff and Trox started working together in 2001. Since then, we have been supplying C-Parts to nine of the group's production centres. Overall, we supply Trox with approximately 500 different fasteners: including RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts, screws and plastic elements.
Until November 2018 the replacement process was transacted via ECOSIT® supply systems with manual order initiation. Böllhoff picks up the empty bins once a week and delivers the appropriate replenishment the following week.
Solution
A more flexible procurement process using the latest generation of ECOSIT® RFID
In December 2018, Trox transitioned the ECOSIT® supply system to modern RFID technology at its production centre in Neukirchen-Vluyn, Germany. During the pilot project, replacement time was reduced and order initiation was simplified. Today the procurement process is started by simply inserting a label into the RFID box, replenishment orders for items are possible up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery date.

Result
Replacement time reduced by up to six days
When the ECOSIT® systems were transitioned the delivery quantities and the total number of bins were also adapted to meet Trox's current requirements. In this way, the space on the shelves can be optimally utilized. Additionally, the ECOBin container series with lateral access flaps has been implemented. These flaps make it easier for the operator to take out the required fasteners. Picking processes in Production Preparation are thus accelerated.
