VOIS-EDImanager optimises Voith Turbo procurement process

To optimise communication and work processes with respect to distribution logistics and thus reduce the produced costs, electronic systems are required for the exchange of business documents.
Already back in 1995, Vois IT Solutions GmbH developed such a system - EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
The EDI system employed at Voith, the Actis EDImanager, is now being used for communication between Voith Turbo and Böllhoff as well.
"It was the aim of the project to optimise the work processes and document flow in the Incoming Goods and Accounting departments and to thus reduce costs," says Peter Lexa, team manager of Material and Quality Management at VOIS. Amongst others, he worked on this project together with Stephan Hosemann, responsible for Logistics Controlling and Systems in the Rail market segment.
Apart from a considerable simplification of posting incoming goods, credit notes are automatically generated in the SAP system upon posting. Due to these credit notes, which are transferred to Böllhoff without further manual processing steps, Böllhoff does not have to send supplier's invoices to Voith anymore. This solution thus results in enhanced data quality, process transparency and a considerable simplification of processes.
